Summer Solstice
This collection of paintings is inspired by new and old memories. Memories of childhood summers at Trebah Gardens, Cornwall: adventuring through jungles of bamboo and gunnera, swimming in the ocean, eating pasties under the shade of tree ferns.
This year I have revisited those memories, spending time in the landscape, soaking up the small moments, enjoying the slowness and nostalgia. These moments are expressed in vibrant colour and playful textures with acrylic paint, oil pastel, collage and embroidery.
I invite you to escape the hysteria, slow down, marvel at the abundance of nature, breathe in the moment.
Original Monoprints
These were created by transferring acrylic paint from acetate to paper by hand, layering up marks and shapes. This printing process results in a one of a kind print.
